Currently, India is the world's capital in cardio-vascular diseases & diabetes and in years come the prevalence of these lifestyle disorders is only expected to increase.

Today, 4 Indians die every minute due to a heart ailment, Saffola's reasons for existence is to lower this statistic.

World Heart Day initiatives

 

To commemorate the World Heart Day on 25 September, 2005, Marico Limited launched a healthy heart pledge card with a sign up campaign from September 23-25, 2005 in various locations in Mumbai.

  • Saffola as the leader in "preventive heart-care movement" initiated a cause led marketing throughout the country with the central idea to "take care of your heart". Saffola inspired the public to take the pledge towards a healthy heart and the total number of people who signed the pledge was 24,142, including various film stars and celebrities.

The event marked a record for the maximum number of health-related pledges signed and will be included in the 2006 issue of Limca Book of Records in the chapter on medical sciences.

In Recent times

  • For the first time in the history of world radio, Saffola brought (07-08)

    - 4 Radio stations together for a simulcast

    - The one hour program raised the concern of heart ailments across mumbai

  • We made radio go silent (08-09)

    - So that you can listen to your heart, for once.

  • In the year 2008 we extended free cholesterol checks across 90 cities in the country We reached out to 85 Lakh people in the country and gave free cholesterol checks to anyone who wanted one.
